Canaan Inc. (NASDAQ: CAN), a crypto mining expertise firm, has launched a pilot mining challenge in Calgary, Canada, in partnership with Aurora AZ Power Ltd. The initiative goals to transform pure gasoline from wellheads into cost-efficient energy for high-density computing operations.
The challenge integrates gasoline extraction, energy era, and computing inside a single modular system. It contains over $2 million value of Canaan’s Avalon® A15 Professional miners and containerized information facilities put in immediately at gasoline websites. The deployment is anticipated to realize about 2.5 megawatts of computing energy with a 90% uptime assure.
Through the use of stranded or flared gasoline, the challenge may eradicate as much as 14,000 metric tons of CO₂-equivalent emissions per 12 months. It demonstrates how localized energy era can assist compute-intensive workloads whereas lowering environmental influence.
Canaan and Aurora plan to make use of this pilot to validate the scalability of off-grid computing powered by repurposed pure gasoline, making a mannequin for sustainable power use in mining and AI information middle operations.
